TOPICAL CREAMS

ADVANTAGES

Compounded topical creams and gels are formulated to provide relief from pain or inflammation in targeted areas of the body. These products allow patients to avoid serious side effects and drug interactions which are common to oral medications, since creams are absorbed into the blood stream at minimum levels.

In addition to treating particular parts of the body, topical creams and gels can control specific types of pain, including those caused by arthritis, trauma, surgery, sprains, muscle strains, nerve damage and chronic inflammation. They can be used by themselves or in conjunction with other medications, allowing a patient to reduce dependence on oral agents.

PROPER USE

In order for topical treatments to work, they must be used consistently in prescribed amounts and frequencies. Some of the active ingredients must accumulate in the tissue to achieve the desired pain control.

All of the components of our compounded pain medications come from FDA approved facilities, and are formulated to your physician’s specifications. Before using any topical pain treatment patients must first consult their physician to inform them of their personal medical history.
